About Us:

enCANTA Collective is a vocal chamber ensemble dedicated to exploring musical repertoire from all eras and cultures, utilizing interdisciplinary collaboration that juxtaposes the traditional with the innovative, to reinvigorate in its audiences a love for vocal chamber music.  enCANTA Collective creates inventive concerts that feature elements of visual arts, graphic design, electronic music, theater, and dance integrated into its performances of vocal chamber music.  Offering diverse musical experiences, enCANTA Collective appeals to a wide variety of audiences, from students to seniors to children, with a strong local audience of New York City residents. 

With a particular interest in contemporary American ensemble music, enCANTA Collective produces innovative performances by combining music of many time periods, programming lesser-known masterpieces alongside widely-celebrated classical works, and fusing art forms and mediums into a single artistic expression.  Focusing on ensemble music and collaboration between artists and art forms, enCANTA Collective strives to establish a creative, inspiring and safe environment in which emerging singers, instrumentalists, composers, visual artists, choreographers and stage directors can work together to reach across art forms so that audiences may experience exciting and energizing interpretations of vocal chamber music. The name enCANTA Collective is a play on word: encanta in Spanish means “ it delights”; canta is from the Spanish or Italian verb “ to sing”. The word collective describes our desire to collaborate with an ever-expanding pool of talented musicians.

 enCANTA’s FUTURE:

Looking to the future enCANTA Collective is continuing its three concert series this coming season but with a new location. Upcoming in the 2011-2012 season: September 25 ( Fall Fundraiser) October 2011 ( New York, New York), March 2012 ( Childhood Dreams), May (Support the Arts) May 2012 ( the Art of Letters).
